We exist to make financial well-being accessible — to give working families, small businesses, and lifelong savers a place where their money is treated with respect and their voice is treated as ownership.
Velora was founded by a group of neighbors who believed banking should serve the community, not the other way around. We've stayed true to one principle ever since: people first, profit second.
The mutual difference
As a mutual, Velora has no outside shareholders. Every dollar of net income is reinvested — into better rates for savers, lower rates for borrowers, expanded access in underserved areas, and grants to neighborhood organizations.

From the volunteer board that governs us to the local nonprofits we fund, Velora is shaped by the people it serves. We sponsor youth financial literacy programs, fund first-time homebuyer assistance, and partner with local food banks year-round.
